Data Privacy: Adaptive Sharing and Blockchain-based Data Protection

报告人简介:Dr. Mu Yang is an Assistant Professor at the University of Greenwich, UK. Her research interests include data privacy, trust, cyber security and cloud computing. She received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southampton, UK in 2013, and has participated in a number of research projects on Security and Privacy, funded by the UK and EU research councils. The most recent grant she receives is the EPSRC PETRAS IoT project, which investigates the integration of human factors in managing privacy in the IoT systems. Her research has been published in international conference proceedings and journals, and some of her research have been awarded by international and national prizes, such as UK SETforBRITAIN, Lloyd’s Science of Risk.

学术报告摘要:In this talk, I will touch upon the challenges and research trends of privacy management from the perspectives of both individual users and service providers. More specifically, I will introduce my research on adaptive privacy for supporting users in managing privacy at runtime, and sketch the open research questions in this area. Besides the individual user perspective, I will briefly introduce the new EU privacy regulation GDPR, and talk about how blockchain technology has been explored in the EU to enable secure and privacy-preserving data sharing among federated clouds.
